Stearin

STEARIN - Palm oil

In the year 1818, stearin was discovered for the first time as a suitable wax for
making candles. Palm oil was used as the starting material; the by products of
stearin are completely biologically degradable.

For this reason, stearin is the best candle material since the raw material
grows again naturally and leaves behind no poisonous waste products. In
contrast, paraffin is a waste product from the oil industry.

In addition, stearin candles are low-soot and retain their shape at higher
temperatures.

Stearin is used in the pharmaceutic and cosmetic industries where it serves as
basis for creams, ointments and tablets. Shaving cream,
for instance, contains a high percentage of stearin.

Stearin candles are most suitable for
people with allergies or asthma.
